Most people know that I’m a pretty positive person, but it’s not ALWAYS like that. This is intentional and I do my best to choose the best possible attitude. Obviously, this isn’t always the case. I’ve been known to have a melt down here and there, but the majority of the time, I’m pretty peachy keen.

When I’m getting ready to melt down, if I haven’t done it yet, I try to consciously ask myself:

  • Is this going to make the situation better?
  • Am I being a good example for my kids?
  • Would I be embarrassed by my actions/words when I’m out of the moment?
  • How can I respond in a way that I would be proud of myself?
  • Is there a way I can be proactive versus reactive?

I don’t go through all of these questions each time I’m in a situation, but I do try to go through at least a few of them so it reminds me to ground myself. Let me get into the things I do everyday to make me feel good!

7 Things I Do Everyday To Feel Good

Now before we jump into what I do to feel good, let me just say this – no one expects us to feel good 100% of the time.  It's TOTALLY normal to have emotions that go up, down, feeling anxious sometimes or even angry. I am choosing to share what I do to help me feel good, but a lot of these also help me get out slumps when there are times I just can't seem to get my mind right… so know, don't feel any less for feeling your feelings. This is just sharing some things you can do to help you be proactive with your feelings or get you out of the rut that you might have been in.

Gratitude

How can I be happy for what’s to come if I can be happy for what I already have? My life isn’t perfect. We have things that come up and children that throw a tantrum here and there. My job isn’t to see how much better my life could be until I can REALLY enjoy the life that I have.

So everyday I do my best to write down at least 3 things to be grateful for.  And I won’t repeat anything I wrote within the last 7 days. I’d love it if I did it for 30 days but honestly, I forget.

Listen To Music + Dance It Out

There is definitely something magical about putting on one of your favorite songs and shaking your butt! On my spotify, I turn on my pick me up playlist or if it’s during the Christmas season… okay, it’s year round for me, I’ll bust out some Christmas music because it just makes me happy.

If I'm being honest, this is probably one of my favorites… when you turn on the music that makes you want to shake your groove thang and move around. When you do that, and you start dancing, it actually helps release pent up energy & emotions you didn't even know you had.

Sooo…Create a playlist of your favorite music so that when you turn it on, you instantly feel good & want to jump around!

Write

I didn’t realize how much writing meant to me until I stopped writing! On the days I’m taking the time to write/type I feel this sense of calming and so I’ve added it as a habit, so even I’m just doing 5 – 10 minutes of this a day, that’s still 5 – 10 minutes of exploring one of my favorite things.

That doesn’t mean whatever I write I’ll share. Writing to me can be writing gratitude, writing out my own frustrations, writing out what I’m happy about or just anything that comes to my mind. And sometimes that means blogging too. It really just depends.

Hug My Kids

I think it’s important for my kids to know that I love them but something happens when I give them a hug or when they come hug me randomly or even tell me that they love me.  I take a deep breath and in that moment I don’t feel any stress, anxiety or anything.  Giving my kids hugs grounds me. It reminds me that my current purpose is to teach them how to love + live life. And that’s as simple as giving someone a hug. This is another one of the things I do everyday to make me feel good. It definitely helps on those days you feel like you don't have a purpose.

Exercise

I just got back into regular working out this year. I don’t care if I lose any weight… okay, I do. But it’s not my main goal.

When I exercise, that is when I excel. My business had record months, I am on point with the content that I’m sharing and I feel good. I don’t just feel good, I feel aligned, energetic and excited to share!

Meditate

This is one that really hits home and makes a BIG difference with my personality. If I am not meditating daily I find that I’m more snippy (seriously, ask my hubby) and less connected to myself.

I’m not to the point where I can meditate for an hour at a time, but I’m up to about 10 minutes with a guided meditation.

So if you can’t sit for an hour, no worries. Just start with baby steps. Find a shorter meditation to help you get started!

Drink Water

This is one I mastered and then forgot and now I’m working on mastering again. Before I’d get half my body weight in water each day and now I’m working back up to that.

Being hydrated helps you think clearer, feel better and helps your skin look good too! When I stopped drinking enough water, I found I was more frazzled and my I would break out more.

So there you have it, my love. These are the things I do everyday to feel good.  It truly helps with getting me the business and personal success mindset.

I’d love to hear about you! What are things that you do daily to make you feel good?
